os·mo·sis
/äzˈmōsəs/
noun
Scientifically, it’s a process in which molecules pass through a semi-permeable membrane. The wave-like design on many of the pages is an artistic representation of the scientific definition.
Other definitions: a gradual process of assimilating ideas. Sometime unconscious assimilation of knowledge or ideas. Born into confusion. To grow. Unfold. Evolution in understanding. Search for enlightenment. Seeking revelation. Pushing. Exploring. Becoming. Maturing.
Many of this season’s submissions explored journeys toward finding and gaining knowledge. Thus, it seemed fitting to use “Osmosis” as the title for the Spring 2020 print and online editions.
